This sucks. I got a call from the driver who is supposed to come in at 5 this morning saying he might not be able to make it in due to food poisoning. When I got here tonight, I was expecting chaos, as the co-worker I relieved ALWAYS manages to screw SOMETHING up. I was hoping it wouldn't be too FUBAR'd, so I could have a nice, quiet Christmas night to watch movies on YouTube.

When I got here:

• The coffee was full, the dishwasher was emptied
  
• The wake up calls were set correctly

Driver: Hey, do I work today?

Me: *to guest* I'm going to have to call you a cab.

It's 11pm and the hotel is 17% occupied. About half of my work is done and the rest will be done once the bar closes in a half hour. It's quiet as hell here.

People don't have the slightest courtesy to let us know, in SOME WAY, that they've checked out of their rooms? It really makes it difficult for us. I've got people mad because I don't have rooms ready to check people into, and the only reason I can't is because the rooms that should be clean aren't showing as checked out. so it's absolutely SWELTERING in here....i radioed our maintenance department, who said there's nothing they could do to lower the thermostat....because, the GUARD BOX is broken so no one can get into it and change the temp. Is anyone using NiteVision with the signature pads and driver's license scanners? I've got them hooked up in hopes of being able to do paperless check-ins, but I'm having a LOT of trouble with the driver's license scanners- they scan Wyoming licenses correctly about 1 time out of 10. So, the other night our gm had to work the night audit because full time n/a did a no call no show.....so this guy is scheduled to work tonight. ok, so we now have an AGM, yippee! (not really) but anywho...he has the front desk asking people when they check out "on a scale of 1-10 how  likely is it that you would recommend us to your friends and family?" like wtf? i feel so weird asking people this. feels like its a question from a survey. i was just wondering if anybody else has done this

*sigh* Just found out via Facebook that we're going to be at 100% tonight.  I hate it when we're that full. I can only hope for numerous no shows.

Meanwhile, it seems as though Insane Clown Posse is staying at the hotel. I say seems because the only real evidence that I've seen is two vans with group's name on it.
